Doing good together
Missio President father Dirk Bingener invites you to take part in World Mission Sunday 2021.
"Let's not get tired of doing good"
The word that Paul wrote to the churches in Galatia (Gal 6:9) is the motto for the month of world mission in 2021. Let us do good: then as now, the call to a life of brotherhood. It takes courage to approach people and build bridges.
Using the example of Nigeria, the missio campaign shows »what is possible when people act out of this spirit. The people in the West African country are badly affected by the corona pandemic. Poverty and youth unemployment fuel violence and religious fundamentalism. Kidnappings and attacks sow fear and distrust. State failure and poor governance that offer people no security or future prospects are a breeding ground for religious extremism.
Nigeria: Interreligious Dialogue as a Path to Peace.
In this explosive situation, the Catholic Church continues to rely on dialogue. Together with her Muslim partners, she makes it clear that violence in the name of God is profoundly contrary to the essence of religion. The Catholic Church in Nigeria shows in everyday life that God's love is for all people. Members of different religions work together in the missio projects, from which people benefit regardless of their religious affiliation.
