The theme for Missionary Children's Day 2021, “Child Missionaries Live for God and Others”!
The Pontifical Society of Holy Childhood at both the national and diocesan levels is developing very well and enthusiastically. We have 37 diocesan PMS (POSI) at 10 archdioceses and 27 dioceses. Various missionary animation, education, formation and celebration were carried out.
In context of the Extraordinary Missionary Month the Pontifical Society of Holy Childhood of Indonesia joining with Diocesans PMS held jamboree. The jamboree was not held at the same time. Each diocese determined its jamboree time. Why was jamboree chosen? Jamboree can gather many children, teen and young people at the same time and they can proceed together. In that jamboree, there were missionary formation, education, animation, and celebration for children, teen, and young people. They studied Maximum Illud document. They explored the theme "Baptized and Sent” in group discussions, games, and group dynamics.
The national office organized school of missionary animators (SOMA) for both seminarians and diocesan animators. SOMA is very useful for animators to add insight and skils in educating the faith of children and adolescents. For seminarians, SOMA is very useful to add missionary insight and pastoral skills. SOMA provided the seminarians with provisions to carry out the pastoral year.
The PMS of Indonesia hold the SOMA (School of Missionary Animators) program. When the time came to talk about The Pontifical Society of St. Peter the Apostle for Vocations (POSPA), it was a good time to introduce POSPA = "Pontiflcium Opus a Sancto Petro Apostolo" to seminarians.
Because of the many dioceses and the extent of the territory that cannot be reached by all, some the Pontifical Society of Holy Childhood of dioceses organized their own SOMA.
