We had a successful launch of the preparations for World Mission Sunday today 25 June 2022.
Lay leaders from Small Christian communities in St. Montfort Parish and lay leaders of all Parishes in the Diocese of Mangochi have been commissioned to start preparatory activities for October. The main activities are three:
- Praying for mission work and for succesful Oct Mission Month.
- Teaching about the mission of the Church and the importance of World Mission Sunday.
- Giving financial sacrifice for mission works of the Church.
In a special way, the adolescents who have received the Holy sacrament of Confirmation today, have also been empowered and commissioned to be "witnesses to the ends of the earth," through their daily prayers, teaching others and offering financial contributions for the work of the Church.
The Bishop of the Diocese, the Most Rev. Montfort Stima, has also directed that for these three months every SCC should have a special mission collection every week when they meet for their weekly prayers.
In the month of October during the daily rosary prayers, there should be daily collection for the missions.
