Faith and Hope - World Mission Day

Since 1926, World Mission Day has been celebrated on the penultimate Sunday in October.

"We cannot but speak of what we have seen and heard" (Acts 4:20) is the motto of this year's World Mission Day, which we marked on October 24th. Pope Francis, in a message sent under this motto, invites us to the enthusiastic witness of the encounter with the living God, who touches and renews lives.

"World Mission Day was proclaimed precisely to emphasize the importance of the mission, not only in that narrow context, as we sometimes think it is only so-called ad gentes missions to distant lands, but precisely the missionary vocation that is the vocation of every Christian. It is a call to witness to the person of Jesus Christ, the Jesus Christ who is alive and present in our lives and whom we want to witness to all people, to those we meet in our daily lives, but then in a special way to those who have not yet had the opportunity to hear about him. him specifically in his own life."

The month of October is traditionally dedicated to missionary work. In parishes, communities, schools and kindergartens throughout Croatia, preparations were diligently carried out to mark World Mission Day.

Last year, Pope Francis emphasized that celebrating World Mission Day also means reaffirming that the prayer, reflection and material assistance of our benefactors are an opportunity to actively participate in Jesus' mission in his Church.

Thank you all for supporting the missionary work, God bless you!
