Dear Priests, Religious, Deacons & Laity.
Greetings to you in the precious name of Jesus. In spite of this pandemic crisis, we are called to continue this mission entrusted to us by Jesus. In view, the Pontifical Mission Societies of Malaysia. Singapore & Brunei (PMS) together with our Episcopal Advisor, Most Rev. Simon Poh has drawn up an agenda to commemorate MISSION SUNDAY 2021.
The Theme for this Year is: MISSION WITH COMPASSION.
OCTOBER - MISSION MONTH
PMS decided to continue to celebrate MISSION DAY throughout the month of October, in line with the theme of the Synod. Let us begin the month of mission seeking the intercession of St. Theresa of Child Jesus. Patrons of all missionaries and the mission. Each diocese may come up with their own activities.
HOLY HOUR FOR CHILDREN - 01.10.2021
At the regional level, we will continue the online Holy Hour for children on 1st October which also happens to be the Friday. The event will be led by Archbishop Simon Poh and streamed live from the Cathedral of St. Joseph. Kuching at 7pm. Those parishes that have been equipped with online capabilities are urged to make this event available to the children of the parish for viewing. Recitation of the Holy Rosary with meditation on the life of Jesus will be incorporated during the Holy Hour. The link will be made public before 1“ October 2021.
MISSION ROSARY
The recitation of the mission Holy Rosary in various languages by children will be made available on YouTube for prayer meetings, chapel or gathering.
CHILDREN COLLECTION
The donation boxes for collection will be available for parishes in Sabah & Sarawak. For Peninsular Malaysia, it will be made available upon request. We have also made available the soft copy of the donation box sticker. Parents are encouraged to print out the sticker to create a donation for their children so they may cultivate the good habit of giving with compassion at an early age.
MISSION SUNDAY LITURGY
In the same way as previous years, the MISSION SUNDAY liturgy aids will be made available. The mass for the Evangelization of People (Roman Missal) may be used. Mandarin and B. Malaysia translation will be made available.
HOLY FATHER'S MISSION 8UNDAY 2021 MESSAGE
The soft copy of Holy Father's MISSION SUNDAY'S message is made available.

Catholic Weekly Herald, Catholic Sabah and Kuching Today's Catholic will publish information on Mission Sunday.
Finally, in the midst of global pandemic crisis, we have received good news from God. On May 27 this year, the Church officially recognized the miracle attributed to the intercession of our beloved and venerable foundress Pauline Jaricot. We now we await with heartfelt anticipation the announcement of her beatification. Moreover, next year our society will celebrate its 200th Anniversary since its founding and the 100th anniversary of the Pontifical declaration by Pope Pius XI.
