Dear Thai sisters and brothers in Christ
The World Mission Sunday unites Catholics around the world in faith in the Sunday Eucharistic celebration to reflect the vocation of the sacrament of baptism. We are the ambassadors who preach the good news through prayer, participation in the Holy Mass, and making donations to sustain missionaries worldwide.
We have received the call to announce what we have seen and heard. The mission of proclaiming is closely connected with the love of Christ, who has loved us. The Coronavirus pandemic affects all human beings, but His presence and mercy of Christ brought hope and consolation to our fragile world. Each of us is a “messenger of hope” in a world that is in need of mercy and sacrifice, sharing and solidarity, living life in gratitude to God; this is the mission that all Christians receive, and God has bestowed His grace upon us wherever we live.
During this epidemic, when we are wearing the mask, exhibit indifference, and are disinterested in following the mandates of social distancing for good health. Hence, there is an urgency for the mission of love and mercy, an occasion for encountering care and encouragement. Therefore, even amid this crisis affecting every country, we must have faith and courage to step through fear and help brothers around us according to our strength. Therefore, it is an opportune moment to be a missionary to announce the love of God to all who have not yet known God.
May the Blessed Virgin Mary, mother of the missionaries, intercede for our prayers for health, strength, and protection from the diseases. Furthermore, to be strengthened in faith and to be ready to proclaim the love of God to all who do not yet know Him.
