The territory of the Apostolic Vicariate of Requena is very poor. The only communication routes are the Ucayali River and its tributaries. Except in two towns, there is no electricity 24 hours a day. There is no potable water. The population growth is very high.
The subsidy has been distributed among various parishes: San José Obrero in Jenaro Herrera, The Immaculate in Flor de Punga, Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Orellana, Our Lady of Lourdes in Tierra Blanca.
The parish of San José wrote to us: «"Let us thank the Lord because He is good and His mercy is eternal", we pray along with the psalmist and we thank God for having made possible these helps which benefitted the brothers who have less, economically.
This year the grant has widely been distributed for the school supplies, uniforms, enrollment of kindergarten and elementary school children, support the children's feeding and vitamins for the undernourished. The catechetical children could also have the breakfast after the catechism.
Thus spent the bread that we made in the months of April, May, June, July and August. May God our Father, giver of all good, bless every day all the people who support others to have a better life.
By the grace of God, the Missionary Childhood groups are doing very well, every week they meet, have their themes, organize walks and literary evenings ... together with the catechists who are very enthusiastic.
Greetings from our children, parents and catechists, as well as the Missionary Team.
Always united in Jesus, Sister Stellamaris Ngina Mutinda»
