This year, the Diocese of Riobamba hosted the National Missionary Assembly. Organized by the National Missionary Centre of the Episcopal Conference of Ecuador and the local Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS), the Assembly was attended by 71 delegates from different jurisdictions across the country. Among the main objectives were to provide a space for missionary sharing between the different ecclesiastical jurisdictions, to explore necessary themes within the missionary journey and formation, to present an evaluation of the 2024/2025 missionary journey in order to discern what needs to be improved, to carry out the annual planning of the International Missionary Centre and the PMS, and to celebrate the Missionary Jubilee of Ecuador.  On Saturday, September 13, at the end of the National Missionary Assembly, the Missionary Jubilee of Ecuador was celebrated, with the participation of many people. During the initiative, there was an atmosphere of profound missionary communion, which highlighted the unity of the Ecuadorian Church in its commitment to the mission ad gentes and evangelization. It served to strengthen the missionary identity of the Ecuadorian Church, saw the participation of young people and families in the preparatory process and celebration, strengthened the bonds between pastoral areas with a shared missionary vision, and renewed the commitment to prayer, formation and missionary cooperation, and served to deepen the witness of saints and blessed missionaries.
