The 51st National Assembly of Diocesan Directors of Missions has concluded with the participation of more than 50 directors and representatives of missions from all over the country. The Eucharistic celebration presided over by Msgr. Joseph Spiteri, Apostolic Nuncio in Mexico, officially opened the Assembly's work and at the same time marked the closing of the Jubilee Year of the Mexican PMS, which last year marked 50 years of foundation. During the National Assembly, held in Mexico City from 13 to 17 January, the first three days included a spiritual retreat, a report by Fr. Antonio de Jesús Mascorro Tristán, MG, director of the Mexican PMS, and two reflections, respectively on how to live the Jubilee and on the pastoral journey of the Church in Mexico. The heart of the 51st Assembly was the presentation of the “Program of Activities 2025” with a special mention for the XX National Congress of Missionary Childhood and Adolescence (CONIAM), to be held in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, and the Pilgrimage to the Basilica of Our Lady Guadalupe in November, to entrust the missions to the Virgin Mary. On the final day, the appeal was launched to participate in the XV National Congress of Missionary Youth 2026 (CONAJUM) in San Luis Potosí and the commitments made by the diocesan directors for this year were presented, including a greater emphasis on the formation of pastoral agents of the dioceses regarding missions and the promotion of Mexican PMS activities.
