The new director holds his first meetings to raise awareness of the Pontifical Mission Societies
The new director of the Albanian Pontifical Mission Societies (PMS), Father Agustin Marjoni CM, took part in two meetings in September to explain the nature and mission of the PMS.
In particular, on the occasion of the Day of the Religious, a sort of meeting at the beginning of the year to organize pastoral work, the new director of the Albanian PMS had an opportunity to illustrate the activities and initiatives of the Pontifical Mission Societies. The aim was also to involve other men and women religious.
"I am trying to create a network of at least six nuns and priests to bring the message to some predominantly Muslim areas or even to those where religious accompaniment is lacking," Father Marjoni pointed out.
Furthermore, during a conference on emigration, which is a real scourge in Albania because so many people are leaving the country, the director of the Albanian PMS illustrated the possibility that the PMS could be a point of reference for evangelization both for those who leave, perhaps by organizing popular missions in the countries affected by Albanian emigration, and for the many Afghans, Pakistanis, Syrians who enter Albania and from there head for Europe.
