In line with the Jubilee Year of Hope, PMS–Philippines, in partnership with the Mission Education Commission, organized an in-person Mission Gathering on February 8, 2025, at St. Mary’s Academy – Pasay, located at 525 P. Burgos St., Pasay City. The gathering centered on the theme: “PMS: Journeying Together in Hope as Agents of Mission.”

The event brought together members of the Pontifical Society of the Holy Childhood and the Pontifical Society for the Propagation of the Faith. It aimed to inspire, challenge, and empower children and youth to live out their missionary calling, especially by spreading hope and promoting unity and collaboration in today’s world.

The highlight of the morning was the Keynote Address delivered by Rev. Fr. Reynald Atienza, a well-respected speaker and gifted author, best known for his award-winning book series “Bes, Love Ka ni God” (Friend, God Loves You).

Around 700 children and youth from Catholic schools and parishes across Metro Manila and nearby provinces joined the event. Though some were unable to attend for various reasons and distance, many others were able to participate virtually, thanks to the live-streaming support from the Office for the Promotion of the New Evangelization (OPNE).

A special segment of the program featured a chat show with Msgr. Esteban U. Lo, LRMS, National Director of PMS–Philippines. During this session, six young participants from different regions shared their personal stories of hope amidst challenges, offering inspiration to their peers.

After lunch, the participants watched a short film highlighting compassion and friendship as foundations of hope. This was followed by an interactive, guided discussion to reflect more deeply on the message.

Another meaningful part of the celebration was the Eight Pilgrim Mission Stations. Each participant was able to visit three of these stations, each designed with formative and engaging activities that offered rich insights and takeaways. The stations focused on the following themes:

1.    Missionary Childhood Association

2.    Propagation of the Faith

3.    Saint Peter the Apostle Society

4.    Missionary Union

5.    Mission Rosary

6.    St. Josephine Bakhita

7.    Care for Creation as a Mission

8.    Jubilee of Hope

The day concluded with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, uniting everyone in prayer and thanksgiving. During the Mass, participants offered their personally written “Pledge of Hope,” committing themselves to live as young missionaries bringing hope to the world.
