Father Lucian Păuleț, professor of systematic/dogmatic theology in the Roman Catholic Theological Institute "Saint Joseph" or the Great Diocesan Seminary of Iasi., Romania, is sharing with us his mission experience. Pope Francis’ message for the World Mission Sunday of 2020 touched many hearts; it touched my heart as well.

“We have realized that we are on the same boat, but at the same time important and needed, all of us called to row together, each of us in need of comforting the other”.

We have a particular mission-ary experience in Iasi. There are many international college students living here.

They come from Europe, Asia and Africa to get an academical degree. Imagine them being far away from home; they miss their culture, country, family and friends.

They are fragile and vulnerable, yet we meet together every week to pray, to celebrate the Mass, to socialize and to support each other.

We called this project A home away from home. In our frailty, when we reached out to each other, we discover a greater power that unites us: Jesus. He is “the Father’s Missionary”, “he himself is Love, love that is always "on mission", always reaching out in order to give life”, as Holy Father says.

We remember the motto of his visit in Romania, last year: “Let’s walk together”. That is how love works. It comes out from God’s heart and it is shared when we care for each other.
