Father Guy Bognon PSS, Secretary General of the Pontifical Missionary Society of St. Peter the Apostle (POSPA), and Father Alessandro Brandi, a collaborator of POSPA, have been on an official visit in Nigeria since Monday. A large group of children welcomed them in a festive and joyful atmosphere.  On the occasion of the celebration of the centenary of the Seminary named after the foundress of POSPA, Jeanne Bigard, in Enugu, the delegation from Rome will participate in some of the many initiatives that began on November 10 and will continue until the 21st (see news, November 7).

Last Monday, Father Bognon during the celebration of the opening mass of the cultural day, recalled that each baptized person is called to the mission and emphasized how prayer, sacrifice and offering are the key words to understand POSPA as well as every Pontifical Missionary Society.  POSPA is today in contact with about 800 seminaries for a total of 80 thousand seminarians throughout the world. Among the commitments of these intense days, the visit to the "Holy Family Spiritual Year Seminary" in Okpuno in the diocese of Awka supported by POSPA stands out. Father Bognon and Father Brandi, accompanied by the diocesan director of the Pontifical Missionary Societies of Awka, visited the seminary and were able to meet the seminarians and their formators. They took the opportunity to address the seminarians, encouraging them to continue their formation by doing the will of God.
