Greetings dear national directors and friends of the Pontifical Mission Society of the Propagation of the Faith!
We have entered the month of October, an intense time for all of us as we prepare to celebrate World Mission Day on Sunday, October 20th.
This year the Holy Father calls to “go and invite everyone to the banquet”.
In fact, the need is greater the ever before for intense prayer and material support for the Church in areas of First Evangelization and where the Church is young.
In the last two years alone, the Holy Father has created 10 new dioceses in these areas.
And we know very well that the needs of so many the local churches in these areas is constantly growing; in Africa, Asia, Oceania and the Americas.
Indeed, it is vital that we devote all of our energy - spiritual, emotional and physical - to making these needs known to the clergy, religious and faithful in our respective countries.
We need to encourage them to pray and share their material resources for the work of evangelization where the church is young.
Let us hold in our hearts our brothers and sisters where Christians are often a minority, often not well received, and sometimes even persecuted.
Let us go and invite everyone to the banquet of God’s love in Jesus!
God bless you all and thank you for your dedicated service!
